Recently I've begun watching this new series on TV called Weeds. Actually it isn't new, they're showing the third or fourth season, but I'm watching the rerun of the first season.
If you are familiar with the show, you will know the storyline - a woman suddenly loses her husband to heartattack, has to singlehandedly raise up 2 (or was it 3?) kids. She's desperate for money, so resorts to selling marijuana ('weed') to her neighbors and friends, some of them high profile folks in the community.
Its a funny series, if rather unconventional. But the point here is that, left in a lurch, they have no money to fall back on. That is why the importance of sound investment cannot be undermined.
