Top Ten Things Simon Does NOT Miss From The 80’s (But he remembers a lot of other good things…):

  • Secondary school.

  • Koir RTM singing something about good behaviour everyday before the 8pm news.

  • Shoulder pads.

  • Cumi dan Ciki.

  • Death-defying minibuses ruling the roads in KL.

  • Janet Ambrose.

  • Crappy local TV stations.

  • Margaret Thatcher.

  • 6 hour journey from JB to KL on the trunk road.

  • Radio Pendidikan.

    5xmom - there used to be this local kiddie puppet show by Wazata Zain, one was a butterfly, the other i can't remember. there was a hippo, too.

    wildcharm - in my brother's time they had this class where brought a old junk radio and the class just listened to radio pendidikan...

    my time got tv pendidikan alreday...but it was not much better.

  • i remember cumi and ciki. it was a butterfly and a monkey. that's right simon, his name was wazata zain. i forgot how good it is to say that name.

    eh what about those monyet and buaya and sang kancil cartoons? you know the one from filem negara? i remember one where the monyet was so degil and wanted to eat the chillies,and he said, aku tak peduli, aku nak jugak, aku nak jugak. that was funny....
