Kamala – Looks like a nasty storm, eh, Muboto?
Muboto – yeah, it’s been raining every evening for weeks, now. Makes me cold all over.
Kamala – Yeah, thank goodness for these trees to give shade.
Muboto – Imagine having to stay out in the thunderstorm each time it rain...
Kamala – Is everyone in here already? Did we leave out anyone?
Muboto – No, everyone accounted for… we’re all here. Birds of a feather, you know…
Kamala – Yeah, you know what? We’ve migrated here for so many moons now, but I still can’t get used to the dreadful weather…
Muboto – I know what you mean, one day its bloody hot, the next day its raining parrots and pelicans (if you don’t mind the expression…)
Kamala – I heard Masaka is under the weather again… the doctor gave him a shot this morning.
Muboto – no wonder he looks all pale and white, definitely not in the pink of health…
Kamala – Wow, here comes the lightning… scares the heck out of me.
Muboto – thank goodness for the shady trees…
Kamala – Here comes another flash…!
Muboto – LOOK OUT EVERYONE! THE TREE! The tree…!
Kamala – Run my brothers! Run! The Gods are angry with us! The tree is falling!!!!

Falling tree kills 14 Malacca Zoo flamingos
MALACCA: Two thirds of the flamingo population at the Malacca Zoo were killed by a falling tree during strong winds on Sunday evening.
The branches of the 13m-tall angsana tree in the Mini Safari compound fell within the birds' enclosure near the zoo’s amphitheatre, killing 13 of the 21 flamingos, which were all from Tanzania.

Hahaha Simon, when I read 'The tree, the tree', it reminds me of 'The plane, the plane'.
Poor birds, really. Travelled so far from home and ended up penyet.

5xmom - i bet somewhere in Melaka now there'll be a chinese stall selling 'exotic flamingo meat', can cure impotence and epilepsy...
pat - tragic, isn't it?
anjali - muboto: a character in the AMerican sitcom 'What A Country!' back in the 80's (which was a remake of the English comedy 'Mind your language'). The character was an African prince of an unnamed country seeking American citienship, who's father was a dictator booted out of his own country.
My dad said it was a parody of Robert Mugabe. My dad says a lot of things.
Kamala, as you already might have known, is the former WWF wrestler nicknamed the 'Ugandan Headhunter', one of the very few people to have pinned Hulk Hogan in the 80's.
I don't know why everyone avoids me at dinner parties...
